The quality of leather used by ExeBelts is the best British bridle leather and is supplied directly to us by the tannery here in Devon. Only the prime butt section of the hide is used and all belts are cut the full length of the hide, the direction of greatest strength and durability with its normal variation in texture and patterning as nature intended.
Our belts are cut from hides with minimal processing, simply cured, cleaned and tanned resulting in best quality bridle butts. Belts cut from these hides can last many, many years and become part of the wearer’s identity. You will not find ExeBelts in any High Street outlet, as we deal only with the wearer directly.
Mass produced leather belts come in a variety of prices and quality and many are described as “real leather”, but the quality of this leather compared to the British bridle leather is what chipboard is to oakwood – so choose with care.
